Oil, towels and hotel linen: what a Schiphol hotel massage leaves behind in an airport room
Guests sometimes worry about the room afterwards: oil on the sheets, a mark on a pillow, a question from housekeeping. In practice an oil session leaves an airport room much as it found it, because of the way the bed is set up before anything begins.
What she brings
Every therapist arrives with her own towels and her own oil, packed in an ordinary bag. For nuru she also brings the gel and a large sheet for the bed. Before the session starts she lays her towels over the area where you will lie, so the hotel's linen sits underneath a layer that belongs to her. Nothing has to be borrowed from the room, and nothing needs to be asked of the hotel.
Folding the bed back
Help her by pulling the duvet and the decorative throw down to the foot of the bed, or onto the chair, before she arrives. Hotel duvets are heavy and white, and the one item that is genuinely awkward to clean. With the duvet out of the way and her towels down, the sheet beneath stays clean through a session with oil.
If a mark does get through
Occasionally a little oil reaches the bottom sheet. Hotels launder their linen at high temperatures after every guest, and a trace of massage oil is nothing to a hotel laundry. There is no need to explain it, rinse it or leave a note. Leave the bed as you would on any morning.
Showering it off
Oil can stay on the skin until morning if you are going straight to sleep; it does no harm to hotel sheets once the excess has been wiped away with one of her towels. If you are going out, flying or meeting someone, a hot shower with the hotel's shower gel removes it, and shampoo deals with any in your hair. The erotic oil massage page describes the oil formats themselves.
Clothes and the robe
Oil and good shirts do not mix. Wear the hotel robe after your shower and before she arrives, and keep tomorrow's clothes in the wardrobe rather than on the chair beside the bed. If you are packing for a flight, close the case before the session so nothing in it picks up oil from careless fingers afterwards.
The scent in a sealed room
Most massage oils carry a light scent, and airport windows do not open. If you would rather the room not smell of oil when you sleep, run the air conditioning on a low fan for a while after she leaves. The page on readying the airport room covers the rest of the room before she arrives. As always near the airport, the booking is confirmed with half the fee in advance.
